Every photo, with its story attached.

Each photo is signed with hardware-backed cryptography the moment it's taken, so the story of where it came from travels with it — through screenshots, re-uploads, and everything in between.

The problem

Fabrication moves faster than verification.

Digital media is cheap to fake, cheap to copy, and cheap to strip of context. Verification is still slow, manual, and mostly a matter of trusting whoever posted it. That's not a carelessness problem. It's a structural one: the tools for verification don't move at the speed fabrication does — for anyone, however careful.

The insight

We don't detect fakes. We accumulate evidence, and we say plainly how much of it there is.

HTTPS didn't try to detect malicious websites — it gave legitimate ones a way to prove themselves. TrustCapture does the same for visual media: not a yes/no verdict, but a confidence signal built from whatever verifiable evidence actually exists.

How it works

From capture to a confidence signal.

  1. 1

    Capture

Photo or video captured live in the app. No gallery uploads.

  2. 2

    Sign

A cryptographic manifest — hash, timestamp, GPS, device — signed by a hardware-backed key that never leaves the chip.

  3. 3

    Register

The signed manifest is written to an append-only, cryptographically chained registry.

  4. 4

    Verify

A QR code carrying the verification link is embedded in the image itself, so it survives screenshots and re-uploads.

  5. 5

    Score

Anyone can check what evidence exists and how much confidence it supports — not just valid or invalid.

Sample data for demonstration

Scan the code with your phone's camera — the verification link lives inside the image, exactly as it would inside a real capture. It opens a sample verification record: capture time, approximate location, device, and signature status.

This is illustrative demo data, not a lookup against a live production registry.

Why not just C2PA

We build on C2PA — and go where the file goes.

C2PA — backed by Adobe, Microsoft, Google, and the BBC — is the right foundation, and we build on it rather than compete with it. But C2PA metadata lives inside the file, and the moment that file is shared — screenshotted, cropped, re-uploaded — the metadata is gone. Our verification layer lives in the image itself, not just its metadata, so it survives the path media actually travels.

Where we're focused

Starting where photo evidence already settles disputes.

Our first focus is peer-to-peer car rental and car-sharing: proving vehicle condition at pickup and drop-off, where photo evidence already decides real financial disputes. From there, the same registry extends to rental listings, marketplaces, and other high-trust exchanges.

For platforms

Add proof to a flow your users already complete.

If your platform already collects photos at pickup, drop-off, or listing creation, TrustCapture adds a hardware-backed signature to that existing flow — no new app for your users to install.
